Department Overview
The Evidence and Devices Engineering team is responsible for Motorola Solutions’ body cameras, vehicle cameras and evidence management software leveraged in public safety and enterprise applications worldwide.
We are a thriving and growing company in search of a Frontend Software Engineer to join our evidence management team in the vibrant city of Edinburgh, Scotland. This full-time position offers the opportunity to play a significant role in the development and growth of our software engineering projects. We are seeking a talented and proactive individual who can contribute to our team’s success and foster a spirit of collaboration within the company.
Job Description
You will be responsible for:
- Develop and maintain responsive and user-friendly web applications using Angular framework.
- Manage the upkeep of existing web applications employing Marionette.js guaranteeing their continued utility and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and understand requirements, subsequently translating them into effective technical solutions.
- Writing and conducting unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests to identify, fix bugs and ensure the reliability of the front-end code.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest front-end development trends and technologies.
Basic Requirements
- 2+ years of professional frontend development experience, with a strong focus on Angular.
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Experience with RESTful APIs and asynchronous programming.
- Familiarity with UI/UX principles, and ability to work closely with designers to translate designs into realization.
- Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex issues.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with testing frameworks Jasmine, Karma, and Cypress.
- Familiarity with build tools and continuous integration (Webpack, Gulp, Jenkins, etc.).
- Understanding of security best practices to prevent common vulnerabilities such as cross-site scripting (XSS) and cross-site request forgery (CSRF).
- Awareness of accessibility standards (WCAG) to ensure that web applications are usable and navigable by individuals with disabilities.
